This weekend looks to be beautiful, weather wise. I will be cooking on Saturday afternoon to help prepare for Saturday evening’s Annual Bluegrass and BBQ to benefit the Beacon of Hope. This is an organization near and dear to me, and I’d love to talk with you about it. Call or email me !
On Sunday I’ll be at an open house in Dunwoody, with 2 very nice realtors, Maryanne Winchester and Theresa Strait. These ladies have a beautiful home listed at a great price, and I’ll be there to help them however I can. We’d love for you to stop by. Again, call or email me if you need details !
Later Sunday afternoon I’ll get the chance to speak to a group of Dave Ramsey students. I can’t wait to talk to them about a way to pay off their mortgage in 1/3 to 1/2 the time with little or no change in lifestyle. If this is something you’d like to know more about, let me know. I’ll be posting more details on this in the days to come, but this is certainly an exciting prospect.
If something’s on your mind about Georgia mortgages, or Atlanta mortgages, or Atlanta home loans, or an Atlanta refinance, this is the place to find out your answers. I’m here for you !

The word genius is one I rarely use. But, when it comes to Michael McMillan, it fits! He’s an author, a speaker and award-winning graphic designer. But most of all, he’s a very creative person! His book, titled Paper Airplane…a lesson in flying outside of the box, is a classic on vision and courage. It’s an unforgettable true story presented in an unforgettable way. I absolutely love it, and hope you will too!
Please sit back, relax and turn up your speakers to watch this 3 minute movie Paper Airplane…a lesson in flying outside the box. To watch the movie, click on this link: The Paper Airplane Movie.

Going in to the weekend, it’s easy to just lie around and relax and not think any more about business. The weekend is a time where I try to refocus on the week past, and plan for the week ahead. The Atlanta mortgage market is a fickle one, and I need to be ready to help people whenever and however I can. Tons of properties for sale have created a lot of buying opportunities, and I make myself available to take calls from any of my referral partners and any mortgage seekers.
Atlanta refinance oportunities are up, as mortgage programs are changing to appeal to those people that signed up for adjustable rate mortgages over the last few years. ARMS are coming due by the droves, and I am ready to refinance those people into a more stable mortgage product.
If you hear of someone that needs a mortgage, or just needs information to help them think about mortgages, get in touch with me. 770-573-9386. I help people like you and families like yours find, qualify for, and own homes of their own, often with no money down and even with less than perfect credit.
Have a great weekend !

“Appreciation is a free gift that you can give to anyone you encounter – it is completely your choice. And each time you choose to thank someone for a job well done, you are making the world a better place.”
This is a beautiful quote found in a beautiful book titled: The Simple Truths of Appreciation…How each of us can choose to make a difference. It was written by Barbara Glanz. Julie Kellogg, the book’s editor, said it best…“Every boss in the world should read this book!” I’ll take Julie’s quote one step further…Whether you’re a boss, a spouse, a mom, a dad, or a friend, reading this book can make you a better person. You’ll get great ideas on how you can choose to make a difference each and every day!
In the midst of the hustle and bustle that is the mortgage and real estate business in Atlanta, I often need a little pick me up motivation. I’ve been fortunate to know about Mac Anderson for some time now, and enjoy his work. As such, I am pleased to present this inspirational, thought-provoking, 3 minute movie that truly captures the essence of The Simple Truths of Appreciation.
Sit back, turn up the speakers and enjoy! But don’t forget to share it with those you love. You’ll make their day!

As an active marketeer, I try to keep my website visibility up as much as I can. I register my company and my website with many many other outside sites to try to help raise my profile. One of those sites is the local Atlanta portal, Kudzu.com.
I’ve been listed on Kudzu since it’s inception. About a year ago I signed up for every kind of advertising upgrade that they have, for a trial period of 2 months. Prior to that the listing was free. At that time, the monthly rate for all their advertising was in excess of $1500 a month. But we all know that as long as advertising works well, the cost is irrelevant. I tried it, and my calls and contacts did not increase at all. Experiment over, I went back to the free advertising.
This week an account executive from Kudzu came in to my office with a proposal to upgrade my advertising again. Since a year ago, they’ve increased their profile and increased their media presence. The new proposal was for about $1000 a month. I relayed my experiences from last year, and once again offered to try the service for a month for a greatly reduced fee. When the smoke had cleared, the minimum monthly amount they offered was $750. I asked the account executive again what would be my minimum investment for ANY advertising, and she confirmed $750. As you may expect, I passed.
I like Kudzu, and I get some calls and contacts through their service. It just seems that if you have a past client who had a bad experience, that maybe the offer to try it again would be a little more attractive.
At Georgia Lending, we now offer a risk free mortgage guarantee, that you can see here http://www.georgialending.com/risk_free_guarantee.pdf. This is our Bill of Rights. My feeling is that if I can’t deliver what I promise, then you should be able to hold my feet to the fire. Unlike Kudzu, I’ll put my money where my mouth is.
Don’t misread my message – I think Kudzu is prudent advertising for any business in Atlanta. I just haven’t been convinced that the PAID part is worth it.

After over a week of technical problems, we’re now launching the blog on WordPress. Our blog has been in the planning stages for many months, and we’re awfully glad to get it off the ground now.
The intent is to post useful information about the mortgage and real estate business in Georgia, and primarily around metro Atlanta. There will be stories and anecdotes about my mortgage practice, my associate’s real estate practices, and helpful marketing tips that should be beneficial to all, including those outside of the real estate industry.
I will be maintaining this blog, trying to add something several times a week, and aiming for daily posts. I will be inviting guests to post periodically, and would welcome any ideas you may have about how to make this blog meaningful to more people.
In the coming weeks, my sister site, georgialending.com, will be sponsoring the first in a series of webinars designed to help improve business practices and ratchet up your quality of life. The first webinar will be presented by a Time Management expert and should offer you some new ideas about how to get a handle on your schedules. Stay tuned for details on how to get into this webinar for FREE as a guest of Georgia Lending !
Bookmark this site and check in often. I welcome your comments and suggestions, and look forward to watching this new venture grow.
As always, if you know someone who may be looking for a mortgage, either for a purchase or a refinance, send them my way and I’ll take care of them. email@example.com
